You Are the Ceiling: Why Your Business Won't Outgrow Your Leadership with Rachel Ngom

Growth or Control — You Can't Have Both as a Kingdom Woman in Business

What if the thing holding your business at its current level isn’t your offer, your marketing, your team, or even the economy?

What if it’s the version of you still trying to reach the next level with the habits that got you to this one?

In this episode of the Kingdom Business Revolution Podcast, I’m sitting down with Rachel Ngom for a powerful conversation about leadership, surrender, obedience, multiplication, and becoming the woman God is calling you to be for the next season of your business.

Rachel went from food stamps and a negative $400 bank balance to building a seven-figure online education company by age 34.

Then, in 2023, God asked her to lay down most of that million-dollar coaching business and pursue full-time ministry. (I linked up that conversation I had with Rachel at the Mic Drop & Juice Boxes Summit at the bottom of the show notes)

Today, we’re digging into a truth every Kingdom entrepreneur needs to understand:

Your business will never outgrow your leadership.

The drive, determination, problem-solving ability, and willingness to jump in and get things done may be exactly what helped you build your business.

But eventually, those same strengths can become the reason everyone and everything still depends on you.

Rachel shares why you can have growth or control—but you can’t have both, and what it actually looks like to multiply yourself as a leader instead of remaining the bottleneck.

She walks us through a simple leadership multiplication process:

Teach it → Model it → Let them do it while you watch → Let them do it without you → Teach them to teach someone else.

And she shares an incredible real-life example from a recent mission trip to Honduras, where she used this exact process to equip a team—including young girls who had never prayed for healing before—to step into leadership themselves.

We also get into the deeper internal work required to lead at the next level:

  • Letting go of control

  • Releasing the need to receive credit

  • Removing ego from the outcome

  • Overcommunicating the vision

  • Giving people permission to learn and get things wrong

  • Becoming comfortable being uncomfortable

  • Overcoming the fear of man

  • Discerning God-sized vision from personal ambition

  • Identifying the habits and identity shifts required for your next season

  • Asking God what needs to stay—and what needs to go

Rachel explains that a God-given vision will often feel bigger than what you can accomplish in your own strength.

It may scare you. It may stretch you.

It may require you to say:

“Lord, You have my yes. I don’t know how this is going to work, but I trust You to show up.”

And maybe that is the leadership shift God is asking of you right now.

Not another strategy. Not another marketing tactic. Not another thing for you to carry. But becoming the woman who can steward where He is taking you next.

In This Episode, We Talk About:

  • Why your leadership becomes the ceiling of your business

  • How to recognize when you—not your strategy—have become the constraint

  • Why growth requires relinquishing control

  • How to multiply yourself instead of making your team dependent on you

  • Rachel’s simple process for training and equipping others

  • Why leaders have to stop caring who gets the credit

  • How vision casting builds confidence and capacity in your team

  • Why leaders need to overcommunicate

  • How Rachel discerns God-given vision from her own ambition

  • Why God-sized assignments often feel uncomfortable

  • Overcoming the fear of man when obedience doesn’t make sense to everyone else

  • How spiritual warfare can increase when you step boldly into your assignment

  • The habits that may need to change before your business can grow

  • Why prayer, fasting, coaching, and getting quiet with God can reveal your next leadership step

Rachel’s Challenge for You

Ask the Lord:

What habits do I need to consistently implement to become the leader required for where You are taking me?

Then ask:

What needs to go?

Maybe you need more intentional time with God.

Maybe you need to take better care of your body.

Maybe you need to stop doing something.

Maybe you need to fast.

Maybe you need a coach who can see the blind spots you cannot see yourself.

Maybe you simply need the boldness to finally do what God has already told you to do.

Whatever it is, Rachel’s final reminder is simple:

Sometimes obedience doesn’t make sense. Trust the Lord and step into it anyway.
